Call for Submissions for the 3rd Ntuzuma Arts Festival
Call for submissions for the 3rd Ntuzuma Arts Festival scheduled to take place from 27 – 31 August 2014.
It is that time of the year again; INK [Inanda, Ntuzuma and Kwamashu] and Durban will come alive!!!

We are calling for the following submissions:
  • Emerging Filmmakers to submit their films; length 5 – 60 minutes films, documentaries.
  • 4 theatre Productions [Cast no more than 10 people]
  • 5 Fashion Designers
  • 50 Music artists
  • Visual artists to submit works under the theme: 20 Years of Democracy and Freedom
  • 20 Dance Groups for a Dance Competition
  • Poets, Storytellers and Comedians
  • If you wish to exhibit your art, crafts and/or other please contact us.
NB: Submissions are open to everybody

  • Then we will send you an application form to complete and return to us no later than 11 July 2014.
  • Shortlisted applicants will receive a notification from us on or before 20 July 2014.

Footloose: Young Performers Production
UKZN Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre: 1 to 13 July
Directed by Themi Venturas, the 14th annual PANSA Young Performers Production for this year isFootloose which comes to the UKZN Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from 1 to 13 July 2014, presented by PANSA (The Performing Arts Network of SA); the Department of Arts and Culture of the Province of KZN, and Rainbow: RCL Foods 
Footloose tells the story of a tenacious and rebellious city teenager, Ren (played byRendani Mufamadi), who moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned by the conservative Rev Shaw Moore (played by Bradley Marshall) and the town council. Ren leads the young people of the town, including Rev Moore’s rebellious daughter Ariel, in a protest against the town’s banning of the annual dance. 
The show will run at the UKZN Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from 1 - 13 July. There are low price previews on Fri 27 at 7.30; Sat 28 at 2.30 and 7.30pm, and Sunday 29 at 2.30pm. The show opens formally on Tuesday 1 July.

Christmas in July: Join Marion Loudon and the REALS for a festive party show designed to knock the ‘stuff’ out of ‘stuffiness’ with a line up of festive favourites with rock and pop classics from yesteryear including All I Want for Christmas, Santa Baby and Rocking Around the Christmas Tree. 
Cast: The Reals are Barry Thomson on Guitar, with musical director Dawn Selby on keyboards, Mali Sewell on drums and Jason Andrew on the bass guitar Marion Loudon will be joining them on vocals.
