Connecting Africa with East Coast Radio
This month East Coast Radio is involved with an exciting project that brings Africa closer together.
Their 'Connecting Africa' project has the support of KZN Tourism and Dube Tradeport.
Durban will play host to two radio stations from across the border, Phoenix FM from Lusaka, Zambia and Star FM from Harare, Zimbabwe as well as Jacaranda FM from Gauteng.
These 3 stations collectively broadcast to 13 million listeners.
Connecting Africa (now in its third year) has had a significant impact on increasing domestic tourism with SAA reporting an increase in direct flights from Zambia and Zimbabwe to South Africa.
Connecting Africa is aimed at building relationships between KZN and Durban and our neighbours. This includes media and business partnerships.
The radio stations will broadcast their afternoon shows live from Durban on 31 March 2014 and 1 April 2014.
It's a unique initiative aimed at positioning Durban as a must-see, cross border tourist destination.
