Parched
areas of KwaZulu-Natal stand to benefit from a massive water collection drive,
spearheaded by East Coast Radio.
Launching
Project #WaterShare on East Coast
Breakfast, presenter Darren Maule urged the province’s people
to help make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of residents who
are bearing the brunt of one of KZN’s worst droughts. “You guys have always
heeded our call for help,” said Maule. “And now, more than ever, we need you to
help us help the people of our wonderful province who are in dire straits.”
Residents
and businesses are been urged to donate brand new, sealed bottles of water to
East Coast Radio. Project #WaterShare will run until Sunday evening (31 January
2016). KZN relief organisation, Gift of the Givers, has come on board to help
the station distribute the water supplies to areas worst-affected by the
protracted dry spell.
Speaking to
Darren Maule and the East Coast Breakfast team on air, the
station’s General Manager, Boni Mchunu, said, “People are desperate for our
help. This is the time for us to come together, roll up our sleeves and help
fellow residents of our beautiful province.”
