All you need to know for @DIFFest 2013 opening soon in Durban


The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) is almost here and there are some amazing films, documentaries, wavescape, masterclasses, workshops and seminars and so much more.
Runs from 18 - 28 July.



Here is all you need to know for DIFF 2013.


Meet your Festival Manager Peter Machen.

Some of the highlights in the Film Section:


The opening film is 'Of Good Report' directed by Jahmil XT Qubeka and this is
an African-noir dealing with the dark world of the serial killer.


Look out for 'The Forgotten Kingdom'  set in the beautiful landscape of Lesotho.


David Cronenberg brings you 'Cosmopolis'


Chinese Director Wong Kar Wai presents 'The Grandmaster'


Dennis Cotes has 'Vic and Flo Saw a Bear' which shows the relationship between an ex-convict and her much younger lover.


Look out for 'Wrong' directed by Quentin Dupieux starring William Fichtner


Watch out for 'Only God Forgives' directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.


The closing film of DIFF 2013 is 'Free Angela - and all political prisoners' directed by Shola Lynch

There are also some Zombie Movies so look out for some scary movies.


'Halley' is a film about a man whose body is slowly rotting away.


There are also some interesting documentaries coming up.


'2 Wings Many Prayers' shows us two men who try to fly around the world in a small plane


'Angels in Exile' is about street kids in Durban




Damon Foster shows us 'Touching the Dragon' about crocodiles and the relationship one man has with them.

Then there is Durban Film Mart the conference for Filmmakers where products can be pitched and where workshops and masterclasses happen for all Filmmakers.



Watch for 'A Shot At The Big Time' directed by Janet van Eeden and starring Tim Wells. 

If you love surfing movies Wavescape will also be there.


Look out for Bending Colors all about Jordy Smith.



There will also be a Talent Campus for aspiring filmmakers featuring masterclasses and workshops.

Look out for 'The Films That Made Me' also at the Festival. 

Wild Talk - Africa's most respected Natural Film Festival and Conference will also take place
this time at Docklands Hotel from July 23 - 26.
Look out for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibit at uShaka Marine World sponsored by National Geographic 25 July - 25 September 2013.
