East Coast Radio’s Breakfast Stack team decided to treat some motorists to a full tank of fuel in light of rising petrol costs. After last month’s steep increase in fuel, the price shot up a further 32 cents a litre earlier this week.  East Coast Radio’s fuel fairy stepped in to assist ten motorists by filling up their tanks for free.

The Breakfast Stack’s Darren Maule says, “The rising cost of petrol almost seems insurmountable, so when we had an opportunity to spend R5000 on other people’s fuel I jumped at the opportunity.” Fellow presenter Ramona Kasavan donned fairy wings, a wand, a tutu and cash in hand to spread some cheer, “The motorists shared how severely the rising petrol price is affecting their household income. They say they’re considering lift clubs or only having one car as a family. So it was great to be able to help a few people out.”

One listener Amanda Risi says she was in desperate need of petrol and had prayed about petrol and then heard about the ‘fuel fairy’ on-air. She raced to the petrol station, with just R20 in her wallet, and was overjoyed that she received a full tank for free. Maule says, “We give away other big prizes and this could be seen as small, but in actual fact the gratitude at this random act of kindness was amazing, people were just so relieved.”

Things to do this Weekend

Andre The Hilarious Hypnotist
Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre: 6 – 25 August
Hexagon Theatre, Pmb: 27 - 31 August
Is it a Kangaroo, a Dinosaur or could it be Superman? No it's Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist and a group of volunteers from his audience acting in strange weird and wonderful ways.
Following his sold-out season in 2012 Andre returns to Durban’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from 6 – 25 August 2013, and with this he brings more of his dry wit, strange humour and a heap of new routines. Andre has selected some of the best material he could find in order to ensure that his audience is provided with two hours of side-splitting fun, laughter and stress-reducing entertainment.
Andre would like to remind theatre-goers that he will not drag, pull or in any way coheres you to take part in the show. If an evening of good old family fun is all you want Andre will let you enjoy the show without the risk of becoming the star. Andre's show can however assist when it comes to getting rid of your mother-in-law, wife or husband.  A mere snap of the fingers leaves you single……
