Be part of a world record attempt!

This Flip-Flop Friday, on 21 September, East Coast Radio together with Tourism KwaZulu-Natal will attempt to break a world record. The current record for most people jogging in flip flops was set with 352 people in Austria in 2006. East Coast Radio is sure that in the spirit of ‘Funsunzi’ the people of KZN can top that!

Get down to Suncoast Casino’s promenade before 4pm on Friday afternoon to join in the record attempt. You can pre-register at www.ecr.co.za or register on the day from 2pm onwards. Not only will you help make history, but you could win R10 000 in cash or other great prizes.

If you can’t make the record attempt, don’t forget to free your toes on Friday. We’re calling on school children, business people and everyone else in the province to embrace ‘Funsunzi’ living at its best and wear their flip-flops, no matter the rest of their outfit.  The station hosted the very first Flip-Flop Friday initiative last year and the response was overwhelming. Thousands of people joined in the fun and celebrated life on the East Coast. The station’s Marketing Manager Lucky Sithole says, “We’re hoping that this year’s Flip-Flop Friday will be even bigger and better!”
