Bennie Naude Inspirational Speaker & Trainer

This week we have an exclusive interview with Inspirational Speaker & Trainer Bennie Naude

Find out more about Bennie on Twitter - @DeepLiving

10 Questions with Bennie Naude

1.  Where were you born?

Riversdal, South Africa

2. You are in South Africa to do EFT Training, what exactly is EFT and what training will you be doing?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is also sometimes called 'tapping' because it activates your body's natural ability to heal itself and relieves physical and emotional pain and stress it helps you on a range of everyday issues like:

  • Overcome overwhelm and feel more relaxed and in control of your life (rather than it being in control of you)
  • Reduces stress and anxiety by reducing your adrenaline and cortisol (stress hormone) levels
  • Eliminate food cravings and enable weight-loss
  • Relieve headaches, migraines, backaches, painful PMS, side-effects of chemo-therapy and even help your body heal quicker after accidents or surgery.
  • Relieve depression, overwhelm fears and phobias (like the fear of public speaking, heights or spiders) and has been clinically proven to be very effective for overcoming even extreme trauma like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Shift negative beliefs which hold you back like 'I'm not good enough' or 'I'll never be successful ' so that you can move forward in life.
  • Overcome Relationship tension and difficulties
It's really for people who are ready and willing to take responsibility for their emotional, physical and spiritual  wellbeing.

I'm hosting a 4-day 'EFT Practitioner' training in Cape Town which includes both the so-called EFT Level 1 (or Foundation) and Level 2 trainings.  Doing it back-to-back means you get to learn the technique step-by-step and get to practice it in the classroom so that not only will you experience the benefits right here but by the time you leave you'll be confident in applying the technique to yourself, to those you love and with clients if you wish.

3.  What advice do you have for Speakers and Trainers

Be YOU.  Think out of the box and say what you think.
Love what you do or do something else.
Connect with the people right in front of you - they are human beings just like you.
Be prepared well enough and know your material well enough so that you can have a conversation rather than 'present' or worse read from the notes!

Never, ever, ever (ever) read from the PowerPoint slides - it's an insult to our audience (most of them can read just fine by themselves).

Speak from your own experience, tell stories from your life,be vulnerable, be human.

Whatever anyone in your audience or classroom says, always see through their apparent dilemma or block and see their magnificence, their beauty.

Remain open to feedback and to learning from your audience; if you find yourself defending or justifying your own position, take a breath.  If you need to, take time out.  You are right and so are they.  An untold number of different perspectives, all correct.

Engage your audience.  Ask questions, inquire, be curious about and interested in them.  Be honest - people smell BS a mile off even if they don't know it.

Inspire them, love them and above all never buy into their self-imposed limitations;  lovingly, kindly and compassionately challenge them into their greatness.

Be friends with yourself first, love yourself first accept yourself first.  That makes everything possible.

For want to be speakers and trainers - don't wait until you're perfect; do it NOW.  Go out and teach people NOW.  Like them, you also have everything inside of you right NOW to be successful!

4.  Where is home for Bennie?

That's a great question!  I've lived all around the world and love travelling;  I have British and South African citizenship, am now based in the UK and spending a few months in South Africa.

5.  What do you do to relax?

Swiim, read and go to the movies.

6.  What are you reading at the moment?

For inspiration I'm currently reading through 221 of Neville Goddard's presentations.
For fun I love Janet Evanovich and just finished her 'Seven up'

7.  What motivates you every day?

I am very clear on the 'big picture' of where my life is heading and because it's quite big it's one of my biggest motivators.  Also, doing what I love and am passionate about for a living is one of the best motivators I know.

8.  How do you use Social Media?

I am on Facebook a few times a week, mainly to catch up with the latest events and news.

9.  What advice do you have for people who want to make a success of their lives?

Get 100% clear on what you want - that has to be the first step else you'll never get there.  Forget about 'how' you're going to get there (that's the universe's job)  and just focus on the 'what' instead and imagine it in the greatest detail.  Then start taking action - any action because imperfect action trumps perfect inaction every single time.

You already have everything it takes to be successful right now.  The universe only wants for you what you want for you and no-one is coming to rescue you;  it's up to you, 100% you and only you.  You are as free to choose poverty and struggle as you are to choose success so choose wisely;  choose your thoughts with care and use your imagination with care because you are much more powerful than you realise!

10.  How can people book for your EFT Training Workshop?

They can book online by following this link http://www.deepliving.com/eft-training/

We Interview #Speaker Claire Newton #vocalislekker

Dear Readers Today We Interview Speaker Claire Newton all about PSASA and the
Annual Convention they have coming up.  Let's hear what she has to say:

                                                                     Claire Newton
President of the Durban Chapter of PSASA

1.  You are a Speaker, What do you Speak about?

I speak about YOU-Q. You-Q is a concept that I have developed myself and it is about living one’s life to one’s full potential. It is about finding one’s Inner Winner.
You- Q is more than IQ – Intelligence alone is insufficient to find your Inner Winner.
You-Q is more than EQ – Managing your emotions is insufficient to find your Inner Winner.
You-Q is more than SQ – Having spiritual understanding on its own is insufficient to find your Inner Winner.
YOU-Q includes all of these things, but it is alsomore than these things. I talk about the 3 things one needs to focus on in order to develop YOU-Q and find one’s Inner Winner. That is
1.  Get Real - know your values, purpose and vision.
2. Change Your Head Talk -change the negative beliefs you have about yourself and the unhelpful messages you give yourself and
3. Relate – be able to relate well with others(be assertive, know how to handle conflict and have good interpersonal skills).

2.  You are the President of the Durban Branch of PSASA.  What is PSASA, What's that all about?

PSASA stands for Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa. It is a professional association for people involved in the speaking business. Our members are versatile and diverse. They represent all aspects of the speaking business. All make their living, or part of their living, speaking to and/or working with groups as trainers, facilitators, coaches, consultants, adult educators, and keynoters.
The PSASA is committed to building a better future for the professional speaking business in South Africa and internationally. We are linked to the Global Speakers Federation (GSF).
 3.  I understand PSASA is having a convention in April, what will be happening there and what is this #vocalislekker?
Every year the PSASA holds an annual convention hosted by one of its Chapters – Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg or Pretoria. This year it is being held in Durban. The theme is Vocal is Lekker, which is a play on the South African promotional slogan, “Local is Lekker” and emphasises that speaking is just lekker! (For the international readers: Lekker ispronounced to rhyme with Mecca – and means nice / good / great!)
It is a three day convention and it officially stars on Friday 27th April with lunch and ends on Sunday 29th April with lunch.
On Friday afternoon we have a special Business Event. We are inviting business men and women to join us to hear three top international speakers give their business keynote.
The three speakers you’ll meet at the Business Event are:
Charles Marcus
This dynamic Canadian speaker’s key note address, “The Business World Is Evolving – Are You?” covers:
  • 5 game changers that will set you apart from the crowd
  • How to create MAGICAL moments for your customers
  • Principles of success

Holger Woeltje
Holger is Germany’s leading expert in electronic time management and will show you how to:
  • Survive the daily flood of email
  • Find important information when you need it
  • Keep track of tasks
  • Set your priorities and get important stuff done, as well as
  • Achieve big results and
  • Gain more time for what matters most to you.

Andreas Buhr
Andreas hails from Germany, which currently has one of the strongest economies in Europe.  He will share with you his “7 Steps to Increase Your Turnover.”
These three business powerhouses are not often together in the same place at the same time and I encourage you to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to benefit from their shared experience.
Your investment for the afternoon is R1000 per person, including lunch, tea, the threekeynotes and a delegate’s bag of goodies. Given that each of these speakers charge a few thousand dollars / euros, each time they speak, we have it at a bargain price!
There are only 40 seats left for this ground-breaking event, so please book soon!
Saturday and Sunday brings a line-up of speakers including: Mykola Latansky (Russia), Wolfgang Bönisch (Germany), Martin Limbeck (Germany); Richard McCann (UK). Laura Stack (USA). From South Africa, speakers include Francois Muscat, Mark Manley, Bertie Du Plessis, Jurgen Tietz, Dr Petro Janse van Vuuren, Peter Court and Roger Knowles.
This event is open to all PSASA members as well as the public. There is an early booking special offer. For more information, visit the website link:  http://www.psasouthernafrica.co.za/events/index.asp?Type=Cat&CatID=16 or contact Simone simone@psasa.co.za / +27 79 680 2573 for more details and to book your seats.

There will also be books, CD’s and DVD’s on sale throughout the convention, so pop in and be inspired!
4.  Is it true that the Famous Actor Peter Court will be doing a workshop on stagecraft?

Yes, we are very lucky to have Peter Court to facilitate a workshop for us on Friday morning (9-11am). This is a pre con event and it is open to the public. (Seats are limited though, so get in quick!)

The two-hour practical workshop will focus on:
·         Relaxation and breathing – where the voice comes from
·         Vocal development – altering voice for tone and quality
·         Body awareness – development of character and presentation persona
·         Locomotion and motivation – presentation skills and gesture
·         Creating verbal drama – create better presentations and performance
So if you are a speaker, toastmaster, actor, drama teacher or someone who wants to improve your presentation skills, this is the workshop for you.
It costs R500.00/ pp. but if you book for 3 then the 4th comes free!
You can book through the PSASA Administrator – Simone on: simone@psasouthernafrica.co.za / +27 79 680 2573

5.  What advice do you have for speakers?

1)      Join the PSASA!
2)      Attend the conventions!

I can honestly say that my speaking career is where it is today because of the PSASA.

Attending the meetings, being exposed to other excellent speakers and discussing business ideas has really given me focus.  I have also made some great friends through the PSASA.

Attending the conventions is nothing short of inspirational. They are the best investment I could have made into my speaking career. I came away, excited, inspired, motivated. You will too.

6.  Do you prefer the Beach or the Forest?

To be honest I really love both.

When I was working on Super yachts in the Mediterranean, I was surrounded by water or jetties all of the time and I really missed the grass and the trees. At any opportunity I could get, I would go walking barefoot on the grass and look for trees to sit under, just to listen to the sound of the leaves blowing in the breeze. There is a tiny forest in Antibes (South of France)and I was so excited when I discovered it. I used to walk there a lot.

As for the beach…I am a Durban girl! I couldn’t ever live too far from a beach as I would miss it too much. In Durban we are really blessed – we have some of the best beaches in the world!

7.  How does one book for this PSASA convention?

You can book through the PSASA Administrator – Simone on: simone@psasouthernafrica.co.za / +27 79 680 2573

Don’t hesitate, just do it!

Sounds like the place to be!

Newsflash

PANSA KZN (Performing Arts Network of SA, KZN chapter) &

VANSA KZN (Visual Arts Network of SA, KZN chapter) &
Centre for Fine Art, Animation and Design (CFAD)

Present
An Arts Savvy day long workshop

HOW TO THINK LIKE A GENIUS
Presented by Greg Streak
CFAD:  Saturday 22 October

Multi award winning, internationally-acclaimed South African contemporary visual artist Greg Streak is hosting an intensive day-long workshop aimed at developing creative thought and critical thinking, at the Centre for Fine Art, Animation and Design (CFAD) in Morningside, on Saturday 22 October, as part of the ongoing Arts Savvy workshop series hosted jointly by PANSA KZN (Performing Arts Network of SA, KZN chapter), VANSA KZN (Visual Arts Network of SA, KZN chapter) and CFAD.

Streak has lectured on this topic over the years at DUT Department of Fine Arts and VEGA school of brand innovation. This component has always been in such demand, that Streak has formulated years of practice and experience into a one day hands-on workshop.
Greg Streak is an interdisciplinary practitioner working in sculpture, video, installation and documentary film-making. He is the creative director at Source Creative which looks to facilitate meaningful dialogue between corporates, businesses, city planners and the visual arts.
The workshop will be held in three parts: firstly the need for flexibility in which Streak examines the current environment of rapid change and new technology.
Critical thinking is essential before applying creative thinking.  The second module looks at how one thinks critically. We will look at numerous examples of why it is necessary to be able to think critically, from the tricks of food advertising to the gritty and real realities of social networking and general politics.

The main thrust of this workshop is the third module, which is Creative Thinking or how to think like a genius.

“Just to be sure: I cannot make you a Genius!” smiles Streak, “But what this aspect of the workshop deals with is an understanding of how the brain really works, and with that the realization that the brain is not actually designed in a way to think creatively. What we will address in this component is not only a basic background to thinking creatively, but we will look at various techniques that have been recognized as methods and means used by genius types to produce,”

The workshop examines the difference between reproductive and productive thinking, learning to see what no-one else is seeing;  making your thoughts visible and tangible in the world; connecting that which needs to be connected and looking at various other options, understanding the strength of group interaction to achieving complete problem solving.

“By expanding on each of these aspects, a holistic and tangible set of examples are provided to facilitate in opening up your own ability to creatively solve any number of problems that get thrown up at you, be they personal dilemmas, company problems or the need to purely innovate,” explains Streak.

The workshop is suitable for practioners in the creative industries, entrepreneurs, innovators, educators and mangers.

As this day long workshop is partnered by PANSA, VANSA and CFAD, the workshop is available at R350 per person. The workshop starts at 8.30am for 9am prompt, and runs until 5pm.

PANSA and VANSA are the national umbrella civic networking organisations serving the performing and visual arts communities respectively. They are made up of industry volunteers who campaign, lobby and network on behalf of the performers and artists in KZN and facilitate projects and initiatives to improve the arts industry.

Arts Savvy is an initiative of the PANSA / VANSA KZN as a support project for their ongoing internship programme supported by Africalia to empower emerging arts practioners and encourage sustainable self-sufficiency.

The workshop will be held at the CFAD new campus on the Berea: Portview, 183 Cowey / Problem Mkhize Road. This 100-year-old building is an Edwardian Villa with beautiful gardens and a charming authentic feature fountain and is a national monument.
