Get Ready For The Colour Run

Durban get ready for The Colour Run!

East Coast Radio is excited to announce that the original of all powder races - The Colour Run - is heading to the Durban this month! So grab your friends and your sense of adventure and brace yourselves for an experience like no other!

More than four million people in 50 countries have taken part in The Colour Run so far to celebrate health, happiness and individuality and now for the first time, all the excitement rolls out in Durban on Saturday, 29 November 2014.

Tickets are available online and Colour Runners can pre-register for the event series. Entries are filling up fast, so make sure you get yours at www.thecolorrun.co.za  before the race sells out. There are discounts for four or more friends, while kids under ten run free as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.

Colour Runners will receive race packs full of goodies to wear at the event as part of their entry, including The Colour Run signature T-shirt, headband, temporary tattoos and a race number. A complimentary packet of powder will be handed out to each Colour Runner at the finish line to kick off signature Colour Blasts in the festival zone.

The fun kicks off at 9am at the Sunkist Lawns in Durban. The start is staged in three minute waves, to give Colour Runners room to move. This is a non-timed event but in case you were wondering, it takes 1-2 hours to complete the route. Colour Stations are located 1km apart. Runners and spectators then head into the festival zone to enjoy entertainment from East Coast Radio, as well as best-dressed competitions, food, refreshments and you guessed it… more colour!

So run, jog, walk, cartwheel or get pushed in a pram ... anything goes at The Color Run™. There’s only one rule: have the most colourful fun of your life.

And the powder easily washes off from skin and hair, so there’s no need to stress. Just don’t come to The Colour Run wearing your best outfit!

Call for African Filmmakers

The annual Durban FilmMart recently celebrated five amazing years as Africa’s leading film co-production and funding market, and is calling all African filmmakers to submit their film projects for 2015 DFM selections which opens today, the 31st October and closes on the 15th February 2015.

“DFM 2014 has been an exceptionally successful one; with amazing talent coming through, innovative workshops taking place and exciting opportunities presented. We look forward to the submissions for next year’s DFM and encourage African filmmakers to take a chance and put themselves out there - you never know where this first step can take you.” says Durban Film Office’s Toni Monty.

DFM has worked with ninety-five official projects making their debuts at the four day event in Durban over the past five years. Many DFM alumni’s have secured further funding grants and screened at film festivals around the world, establishing Durban FilmMart as a key platform for budding African filmmakers to propel their film making careers.

Planning is already underway to ensure the 2015 Durban FilmMart, an innovative development initiative created by the Durban Film Office (DFO) and the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) and funded by the City, offers profitable and exciting opportunities for selected projects.
Have you been developing a great film idea that tells a dynamic African story or need to raise funding to complete your film in development? In order to benefit from the Durban FilmMart experience, African filmmakers are urged to submit their fiction or documentary feature projects in development for consideration before the closing date 15 February 2015.

Durban FilmMart 2015 will select 10 fiction feature and 10 Documentary feature projects in development to participate in the 6th Durban FilmMart taking place 17 – 20th July 2015. Interested African filmmakers, from writers to directors, are encouraged to submit their projects by 15 February 2015. It is important to note that all projects must have a producer attached. To find out more about the DFM 2015, project submission criteria and how to submit your project, please visit www.durbanfilmmart.com
